Chiffon Vs Georgette

What clings into your mind first about Indian traditional wear? It is none other than saree. Fabric plays a vital role in saree. Women always prefer the right kind of fabric for them.
Here let’s talk about the chiffon and Georgette Fabric

Chiffon
The word Chiffon comes from the French which is called as Cloth or rag. Chiffon gives a transparent appearance because it is a lightweight plain woven fabric with mesh like weave. This fabric gives some stretch to clothes and make feel slightly rough. Chiffon is commonly made from cotton, silk or synthetic fibres. If Chiffon is made from natural fibres can be dyed to any shade or it is made from polyester, it requires specialized disperse dyes.
For manufacturing process, similar weighted waft and warp threads are used on the loom because it is a plain balanced weave. The fabric gives Checkered look which means mesh like effect is obtained by using the criss-cross pattern weave which is generally used for chiffon. Alternatively, twisted yarns are used in weaving the chiffon fabric which results in the slight creased of fabric in different directions. Chiffon fabric is mostly used in chudihardress materials, sarees, salwar kameez, scarves, belts and accents. The beautiful chiffon sarees and flow Dupattas and salwar kameez plays an important both in south and north India fashion for decades.
Georgette
Georgette is closely related to chiffon. It is a sheer (it is a kind of fabric which is made using thin thread and/or low density of knit and which results in a semi-transparent and flimsy cloth), light weight, dull-finished crepe fabric.
Normally made from silk and it is made using highly twisted yarns. Georgette always made in solid colors and prints. It is commonly used in blouses, dresses, evening gowns, saris and trimmings.
Both fabrics are ideal for outdoor and daytime weddings and other occasions.
Women have likes and dislikes but choose the right kind of fabric which suits you the best.
